A worker was killed and two others were injured in a mishap at Steel Plant in xx district today, police said.
"The accident took place when an iron beam, being lifted by a crane in the under-construction coke oven battery 11, collapsed late evening. One worker standing on the ground was killed, and three others injured," Superintendent of Police told PT over phone.
The injured were taken to hospital , where the condition of one of them was reported to be critical, Pal said.
Santosh was killed in the accident while Krishna , Bhusan and Singh were injured.
These were contract workers, working on construction of the coke oven battery. Management has ordered an inquiry.
